Unraveling the Mysteries: Meet the Intriguing Male Cast of 'Diarra From Detroit'
The ensemble surrounding "Diarra From Detroit" finds themselves entangled in the perplexing cold case, inadvertently drawn into its depths. Initially perceived as peripheral figures, the male characters were thought to contribute merely as supporting actors in Diarra's narrative. However, as the story unfolds, it becomes evident that each of them harbors ties to the enigma surrounding Ambien Chris/Deonte Brooks. Despite their initial reluctance, they find themselves thrust into the heart of the mystery, each playing a crucial role in unraveling the layers of intrigue surrounding the case.
Swa Brickland
Imagine being married to an affluent lawyer who looks like Morris Chestnut, and one day it's over because you can't have kids, and he wants an open relationship. In many ways, Swa is the catalyst for the story. If it wasn't for her anxiety over their impending divorce, she wouldn't have had trouble sleeping and so much pent-up anger, which led to the Tinder date that reopened a cold case. Also, Swa's brother works down at the police station who has been tracking Diarra's potential involvement in the murder of a Russian contract killer.
Danger
When we first meet Danger, he's attempting to rob Diarra in her own home. Turns out, they're childhood friends and he's soon advising her to speak with his therapist and making silver dollar pancakes. As Diarra and Danger get closer, we learn he has a connection to the crew pressing Moni's husband for money, the same crew who might be involved with the Greek mob.
Mr. Tea
Tea is one of the more grounded characters, but he's way too supportive of Diarra not to be involved in her hijinks. In addition to helping her crack the cold case, he's there to let her know when she's being Captain Extra. But Tea finds himself a little too tied up in the mystery himself since the DJ he's dating is the remaining factor who can place Diarra at the scene of a murder.
Ambien Chris / Deonte Brooks
He seemed too good to be true, so he has to be a con artist, right? The core mystery of the show kicks off when Diarra realizes her Tinder date, Chris, who helped her get eight hours asleep after a night of passion, is also a child who went missing in the 90s. But why would someone who was kidnapped return to the city of his abduction only to be kidnapped again? What makes him so valuable? So far, Chris might be in the crosshairs of the Mob, who use Greek restaurants as a front.
But that's too easy. With a few more episodes, we'll finally be able to solve the mystery of Chris/Deonte and see if he's truly worth Diarra's romantic time and energy. We'll also see if Diarra can finally get Swa out of her system if Danger tells her the truth, and if Tea's new fling ends up being a snitch.
“Diarra From Detroit” premieres on BET+ every Thursday.
