Andre 3000 Alleged Shaded Drake On His 'Blonde' Verse and Twitter Went Wild
Andre 3000 came out of hiding to drop a verse for Frank Ocean on the latter's highly-anticipated album Blonde, and managed to shake things up with just a few bars.
Now, given how infrequently Dre offers up his services to other rappers, his appearance on Blonde was already bound to get a lot of attention. But add to it the fact that a man of so few words used his to shade Drake? Well, that's when the internet loses its mind.
To be specific, 3000 raps the following:
"After 20 years in /
I’m so naive I was under the im-pression that everyone wrote they own verses /
It’s comin’ back different and yea that shyt hurts me /
I’m hummin’ and whistlin’ to those not deserving /
I’m stumbled and lift every word, was I working just way too hard?"
Of course, it seems pretty clear that Dre is talking about Drake, who was "outed" by Meek Mill last year for allegedly using a ghostwriter on several of his tracks.
Twitter was quick to pick up on this:
Somewhere, Meek Mill is having the best Sunday ever.
Shade or not, it's always great to hear Dre's flow on any track, and we doubt he'll hear a peep from Drake about it.
