"Preacher's Daughter" - RZA flips the old school track "Son of a Preacher Man" for his brothers to spill their hearts about falling and lusting for church girls. Meth, Masta Killa and Ghostface show their affection but Cappadonna keeps one eye open for the Scarlett as he raps, "She a seductress in the form of a goddess/Never virtuous or modest, poison the part is/Breakin' the vessel, turn brother against brother/Man, that's how she molest you."(Photo: Bob Berg/Getty Images)

Sometime before the members of Wu-Tang united, U-God was mentored in rap by Cappadonna. He soon became friends with RZA and Ghostface Killah, and he began rhyming under the alias Golden Arms, based on the Kung-Fu movie Kid With the Golden Arm. Later on, he changed his name to U-God (which is short for his Five-Percent Nation righteous name "Universal God Allah").

The Wu-Tang Clan first became known in 1993 following the release of the independent single "Protect Ya Neck," which immediately gave the group a sizable underground following, especially after their tour with Kat Nu and Cypress Hill. While on the rise, RCA finally agreed to let them record their own solo work while remaining a group. Their debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), released in November 1993.

  3. Debut Single

Upon U-God's release from jail (which did not allow him to have much input on Wu's first album), he was heavily featured on the group's second album Wu-Tang Forever, on which he was one of only four of the group's members to get a solo track, entitled "Black Shampoo."
