Lauryn Hill Sued By Guitarist for Non-Payment
Lawsuit alleges the Grammy winner never paid musician for more than $3000 in services.
It might be an honor to play a concert with Lauryn Hill, but the privilege may not necessarily come with a paycheck. Jay Gore, a session guitarist who played shows with Hill back in 2007, is suing the hip hop legend for failing to compensate him for his services.
Gore says he was owed $3,590 for the shows, but the payday never came. The suit has been filed in a small claims court in L.A., according to TMZ.
Lauryn Hill, who recently announced the birth of her sixth child, has re-emerged in the public eye with a number of performances in recent years after a prolonged absence. The 36-year-old former Fugees singer is set to headline the Rock the Bells tour this August.
