Ebro might have this wrong. Wendy isn't an actress and she always gets publicity. She wouldn't need to faint for more press. When she came back from break after fainting, she said, "That was not a stunt. I'm overheated in my costume and I did pass out. But, you know what, I'm a champ and I'm back."
