He may not be too pleased with the Minnesota Vikings, but Adrian Peterson misses football far too much to be absent from the sport any longer.

The star running back and 2012 NFL MVP is ending a near nine-month absence from the Vikings and will rejoin the squad for their Organized Team Activities (OTAs) on Tuesday.

"I'm returning because I want to. I'm a part of this football team and I owe it to the guys I play with and to our coaches," Peterson informed ESPN on Tuesday morning via an email. "I was planning on coming in this week, and I'm looking forward to getting back on the field. It's what I love to do."

Peterson's return to the Vikings is significant because just last week he went on a Twitter rant against the team and the NFL and his status with the organization seemed up in the air.

Don't forget, the NFL suspended Peterson for 15 games last season during his child abuse scandal. Peterson was reportedly upset that the Vikings worked with the NFL to place him on the commissioner's exempt list and allegedly told them that he would like to play for the Dallas Cowboys in 2015.

Peterson was reinstated to the NFL in mid-April.
