DJ Premier Teases Collaboration With Nas For EP
The project also includes Remy Ma, Rapsody, Lil Wayne and Slick Rick.
A Nas and DJ Premier collab is finally happening.
DJ Premier broke the news by posting an 11-second video of Nas rapping over a beat from the producer. He captioned the video “7/15 @Nas,” see below:
The two first worked together on Nas’ 1994 album Illmatic.
DJ Premier’s new EP is titled Hip Hop 50: Vol 1 and, according to Pitchfork, other featured artists include Run the Jewels, Joey Bada$$, Remy Ma, Rapsody, Lil Wayne and Slick Rick.
DJ Premier said in a press release, “It’s an honor to kick off this iconic Hip Hop 50 music program. Hip hop continues to inspire fans across the globe and it’s incredible to think of what the next 50 years will bring.”
Hip Hop 50: Vol 1 drops July 15.
