Like Father, Like Son: Hollywood Kids Who Followed In Their Actor Father's Footsteps

From Will Smith to Denzel Washington's sons, they are making big moves.

In the world of Hollywood, talent often runs in the bloodline. Over the years, we've seen several actors who have seamlessly followed in the footsteps of their famous fathers. From inheriting their parents' looks to embracing their innate acting abilities, these Hollywood offspring have carved out their paths while carrying on the legacies of their esteemed fathers.

In honor of Father's Day, here are sons who followed their dads, showing the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

  • Will and Jaden Smith

While Jaden doesn't grace the big screen like he used to, for years he was a massive box office draw in movies like The Karate Kid. His last major role was Like a Year in 2020.

  • Denzel and John David Washington

It's not easy to follow in the acting footsteps of Denzel and Pauletta Washington but John David has made it happen. He's had countless critically acclaimed movies and even earned a 2019 Golden Globe nomination for his performance in BlacKkKlansman.

  • Master P and Romeo Miller

This father and son duo have built their empire together from music to business moves.

  • Robert De Niro and Julian De Niro

Robert De Niro is one of the greatest actors of all time and his son Julian De Niro -- his mother is model Toukie Smith -- is on the rise. He is currently on Broadway in The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window and his previous roles have included portraying a young President Barack Obama in Hulu's The First Lady. Like his father, he is notoriously private.

  • Eddie and Gerald Levert

Gerald Levert was a singing powerhouse just like his father Eddie Levert. Sadly, Gerald passed away in 2006 at 40 years old.

  • Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr.

Damon Wayans Jr. has followed in his father's footsteps with countless hit movies, television shows and even stand-up shows.

  • Ice Cube and O'Shea Jackson Jr.

O'Shea Jackson Jr. got his big break playing his father in the 2015 N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton. Although he isn't a rapper, he is an actor like his father. O'Shea has racked up nearly 15 acting credits in less than ten years.

  • Rev. Run and Diggy Simmons

Diggy Simmons gained notoriety for following in his father footsteps by launching his owns grassroots campaign to promote his rap career. He eventually landed a deal with Atlantic Records. However, Diggy has been more focused on acting, he starred in five season of the popular series Grown-ish.
