Nas Responds to J. Cole's "Let Nas Down"
J. Cole's "Let Nas Down" has come full circle. The track off Cole's sophomore album, Born Sinner, was inspired by his reaction to learning his single "Work Out" disappointed Nas, who in turn jumped on a remix being affectionately called, "Made Nas Proud."
Like much of what Jermaine Cole, 28, has unleashed from his Truly Yours 2 EP and the Born Sinner/Truly Yours 3 collection, the re-up of "Let Nas Down" is an elevated level of expression. Helmed mostly by Nas, "Young Cole" respectfully takes a backseat to the Queens MC's ferocious flow. "You made your n----a Nas proud. So you ain't let Nas down, it's just part of the game, becoming a rap king," God's Son explains.
Cole's Born Sinner, released the same day as Kanye West's Yeezus and Mac Miller's Watching Movies With the Sound Off, is projected to debut in Billboard's second spot, selling between 270,000–290,000 units in its first week.
