Shop PRIDE!: 11 Fashion & Beauty Brands Donating To LGBTQ+ Organizations

Take a look at brands that may help you uncover new ways to celebrate love, diversity, and inclusivity during this joyful season.

June is Pride Month, and these brands are stepping up and giving back to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Pride Month originated as a way to commemorate the Stonewall Riots in New York City that ended in June of 1969. The Stonewall Riots were spontaneous demonstrations by the gay community in response to a police raid at the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village. A tipping point in the Gay Liberation Movement, the community initially commemorated the Stonewall Riots for a day at the end of June, but it has since evolved into a month-long commemoration.

Popular brands like Apple, Converse, Levi's, and others often dedicate huge resources during Pride Month to LGBTQ nonprofit organizations (among them, The Trevor Project, GLSEN, and additional groups), which means you could be helping others gain access to valuable resources, too.

Here are 11 brands to consider shopping for Pride 2022, which may help you uncover new ways to celebrate love, diversity, and inclusivity during this joyful season.

  1. Chromat

Chromat is future-forward bodywear designed for strong, powerful #ChromatBABES. Committed to empowering #ChromatBABES of all shapes and sizes through perfectly fit garments for everybody. Last September, Chromat collaborated with LGBTQ+ Activist and Artist, Tourmaline, to show a collection for Women Who Pack, needing a little extra room in their swim bottoms. The collection broke boundaries and made waves on New York City's Jacob Riis Beach, as it debuted on the Rockaway Beach boardwalk.

A portion of the Chromat collaboration with Tourmaline proceeds goes directly to Tourmaline, a black trans woman and incredible activist and artist who this year alone has had solo works in the Met, Moma, and Lacma and premiered at the Venice Biennale. Chromat is also planning a pop-up shop in NYC during pride on June 23-25 and will be donating a portion of the proceeds to GLITS.
