The Bag: Masika Kalysha Spills The Tea On The 'Love & Hip Hop' Hierarchy
Masika Kalysha is on the move from Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood to Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta. During a recent Instagram Live interview with The Shade Room, the reality starlet revealed how she finessed her way out of her contract with LHHH and touched on her experience as a video vixen.
Opening up about her decision to leave the hit VH1 series, Masika explained, "I didn't like the way I was being portrayed. I didn't like the situations I was being put in. It ended up being a lot of situations that in my real life would never occur."
Masika explained how a scene of her discussing a previous miscarriage led to her departure from the show. "They edited it out and my PR person asked them why and they said legal purposes... Anything that was positive or family oriented was taken away and replaced with things that weren’t going on in my everyday life so that was my final straw."
While she might have been able to find a new network to call home, Masika touched on the importance of having a good lawyer. "I had three different attorneys that explained the same exact line wrong the exact same way. Basically I thought once I quit or didn't come back, I had one year to sit out and I wouldn't be back, but I had one year after my full contract term 'til the very end, which for me was eight years so basically if i didn't come back season three I wouldn't be able to be on TV for the next six or whatever years."
She also dished on getting signed to the same record label as Yung Joc and previously hitting the small screen as a video vixen.
