LeBron James: Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving Have Two of the Nicest Handles Ever
A point guard who can handle the rock with fancy handling remains one of the most entertaining sights in basketball today.
LeBron James believes fans are getting two of those point guards during this NBA Finals, beginning Thursday night, with Cleveland Cavaliers' teammate Kyrie Irving and league MVP Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors.
"They are two of the best ball handlers that this league has ever seen," James told reporters Wednesday, including ESPN, while preparing for Game 1 on Thursday night. "Their ability to make shots off the handle, Steph's ability to use his handle to get off shots, those step-backs and Kyrie's ability to be crafty, use his ability to get into the lane and make shots. When you have a handle like that, you can pretty much get any shot you want, and they both show you that. With their speed, their change of pace, their ballhandling, and then their ability to shoot the ball. They can absolutely just shoot the rock."
True indeed. Although Irving is battling tendinitis in his left knee, when 100 percent healthy, he's right up there with Curry when it comes to flashing a sick handle.
When reporters approached Irving and Curry about James's statement, they were both humbled. Curry mentioned Los Angeles Clippers' teammates Chris Paul and Jamal Crawford as exceptional ball handlers as well.
Let's see what Uncle Drew and Chef Curry cook up this NBA Finals.
