50 Cent Raked in a Massive Amount of Cash From Effen Vodka
Sorry, folks, you probably won’t be seeing any more shameless plugs for Effen Vodka in the next season of Power. 50 Cent has reportedly sold his stake in the spirits company. While it’s sad to see 50 and the alcohol brand part ways, it looks like the rapper is getting the last laugh and a million-dollar paycheck.
The Power star reportedly sold his minority stake in the company for $60 million, according to Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club. Although the new departure is just coming to light in the media, the decision was reportedly made a little over a month ago. Despite the news, we still might see 50 repping the Effen hashtag from time to time. In the comments section of a post on Instagram, the rapper clarified the new status of his relationship with Effen. “I’m still on the brand,” he wrote. “I just got some cake out the deal.”
50’s partnership with the Holland-based company dates back to 2014. In addition to holding shares in the spirits brand, the rapper also served as the company’s spokesman. During an interview with People in February 2016, the rapper explained what attracted him to the product. “When I’m out and there’s nightlife, it’s what I drink. And the way the mixologist creates different drinks with it, people are attracted to it,” he said.
Effen Vodka will probably taste even better now that 50 has padded his wallet with an extra couple million. Cheers to new money.
