It was almost like he was preparing to go to war.

That's one way to look at former NBA player Sebastian Telfair being arrested in Brooklyn, NY, over the weekend on gun possession-related charges for having a small arsenal of guns and drugs.

According to TMZ Sports, Telfair, 32, and another man were arrested early Sunday morning after a traffic stop, in which police found four firearms, including three pistols and a semi-automatic rifle, ammunition and weed in their Ford pickup truck. They also found a ballistic vest inside their vehicle.

Telfair was arraigned last night and released on a $75,000 bail. NBCNewYork.com reports that the other man arrested was Telfair's nephew Jami Thomas. Telfair's bail bondsman told TMZ that the former NBA point guard lives in Florida, where he has a license for the guns, but that he doesn't have a license for the weapons in New York.

Authorities additionally told NBC that police pulled them over after smelling weed and seeing a lit "blunt" on the dashboard.

Back in 2007, Telfair and a different friend were arrested following a traffic stop in which police found a loaded gun in the vehicle. He was sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty to criminal possession of a weapon in that case.

Telfair made the jump from Abraham Lincoln High School in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn straight to the NBA in 2004 as one of the country's most-prized national point guard recruits. However, after being selected by the Portland Trail Blazers as the 13th overall pick of the 2004 NBA Draft, Telfair's career turned into that of a journeyman's, having played for a total of eight teams over the span of his 10-year career from 2004-2015.
