Star Trek ‘Picard’ Season 2: Whoopi Goldberg Reprises Guinan
Academy Award-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg is heading back into the Star Trek universe with an epic comeback of character Gunian.
Making her return in Season 2 of Star Trek: Picard, exclusively on Paramount+, Goldberg will join Captain of the Enterprise, Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and Star Trek veteran John de Lancie, who reprised his role as Q.
Goldberg first played Guinan in Star Trek: The Next Generation and was one of the El-Aurians, a long-lived race of psychically-endowed "listeners" whose homeworld was destroyed by the Borg, Comicbook.com reports.
Back in 2020, Stewart personally invited Goldberg to join him in Picard for Season two while appearing on an episode of The View.
“Something that I need to bring up. I'm here with a formal invitation — and it's for you, Whoopi. Alex Kurtzman, who is the senior executive producer of Star Trek: Picard, and all of his colleagues (of which I am one), want to invite you into the second season,” he shared.
To which Whoopi responded, “Yes!”
Season Two of Star Trek: Picard will premiere on Thursday (March 3), new episodes will drop weekly to round out the 10-episode season.
Other cast members for this season include Alison Pill, Jeri Ryan, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Orla Brady, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera and Brent Spiner.
