Gucci Mane Gives Update From Jail
He may be behind bars, but Gucci Mane is still hard at work leading his squad.
Monday (June 2), 1017 Records released a recording of Guwop announcing new projects from himself, Migos, Yung Thug and PeeWee Longway.
Up first is a what Gooch dubbed the "World War 3D series," a trio of albums dropping on the same day. The releases will be The Purple Album by Yung Thug, the Green Album from Migos, and Longway's The White Album, all due out June 17.
Later in the minute-long recording he thanks producers including Mike WiLL Made It, 808 Mafia and Sonny Digital for their help on the new music, and shares dates for his own projects. "July 4, I'm dropping Trap House 4, and September 13, I'm dropping Trap God 3," says the 34-year-old rapper.
Before the tape winds down, Gucci throws in, "Even though I'm locked up, I'm still running the streets from jail."
Gucci, born Radrick Davis, is serving time for two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Last month he pleaded guilty to the charges in order to get less time than a maximum 10-year sentence. He is expected to be released in December 2016.
