Did Michele Bachmann Really Compare Obamacare to Crack Cocaine?
Since her departure from the presidential campaign trail, Rep. Michele Bachmann has laid pretty low. But as congressional lawmakers engage in an epic battle over a government shutdown that centers on the Affordable Care Act, the Minnesota lawmaker has come up with a doozy of a controversial remark.
“President Obama can’t wait to get Americans addicted to the crack cocaine of dependency on more government health care,” she said in an interview with the conservative Web site WorldNetDaily.
Bachmann also said that once Americans sign up for health care coverage, it will be "virtually impossible" to take it away from them. She is one of several House conservatives who voted against a measure to delay the law for a year because they believe the delay didn't go far enough.
Obama and other Democrats have frequently said that Republicans so adamantly oppose the health care law because they're afraid that once they try it, Americans will like it. But according to Bachmann, “All they want to do is buy love from people by giving them massive government subsidies."
