Report: Florida State RB Dalvin Cook Accused of Punching a Woman

Another FSU player is under investigation for an ugly bar fight.

What's going on with Florida State University's football team?

The night before ex-Seminoles quarterback De'Andre Johnson punched a woman inside a Tallahassee bar on June 24, the team's running back Dalvin Cook allegedly struck another woman in the face several times outside of a bar.

The state attorney's office in Tallahassee is issuing a warrant for the arrest of the sophomore, who will be charged with misdemeanor battery, according to ESPN. State attorney Willie Meggs told ESPN that he had met with the woman along with a witness on Friday, and the victim presented him with photos of her injuries. Her bottom lip was split and her nose was sore, allegedly from the punches that Cook landed.

"I found the women to be very credible," Meggs said.

The alleged victim also spoke to ESPN under anonymity, saying she was approached by a man, who wasn't Cook, outside of a bar on the night of June 23. She claims the man asked for her phone number and when she refused, Cook stepped in and punched her in the face several times.

"They kept telling me they were football players," the woman said. "They kept telling me to Google them. They told me they were football players and they could buy me in two years."

On the night of the alleged battery, a police incident report was heavily redacted and the woman was allegedly intoxicated. ESPN couldn't reach Cook for comment.

Cook led the Seminoles' ground attack last season, rushing for 1,008 yards with eight touchdowns.

Earlier this week, Johnson was dismissed from FSU and it remains to be seen what the football team will do with Cook.
