Chance the Rapper and Wife Kirsten Corley Announce Divorce
Chance the Rapper and Kirsten Corley are going their separate ways.
After five years of marriage, the couple has decided to split up. On Wednesday (April 3), they shared the news in a message in an Instagram Story.
"After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together," the statement said.
"God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together," they said while referencing their daughters, Kensli, 7, and Marli, 4.
"We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition. Thank you," the statement concluded.
Last year, fans began to speculate if there was trouble in paradise after a clip surfaced of the "No Problem" hitmaker celebrating his 30th birthday during Carnival in Jamaica while dancing with an unnamed woman.
After the clip went viral on social media, Corely posted a since-deleted quote on IG from Maya Angelou saying, “Most people don't grow up," as cited by Complex.
The exes were childhood friends who began dating in 2012. Three years later, they welcomed their first child, Kensli.
They tied the knot in Newport Beach, CA, in March 2019, and welcomed their second daughter, Marli, in August 2019.
