Jay-Z Remembers Marcy Projects With Inspiring 'Dream. On.' Poem

The rapper reminisces on his Marcy upbringing.

Ahead of his performance during the annual Made In America festival, Jay-Z blessed fans with a powerful spoken word piece on Wednesday (Aug. 30).

Titled "Dream. On.," the poem takes a look back at Hov's humble beginnings in Brooklyn. "I'm from where dreaming ain't allowed/Especially when you're dreaming aloud," the rap mogul rhymes on the TIDAL exclusive track.

In the accompanying visual, fans are given an intimate look at Jay's days in apartment 5C of the notorious Marcy projects. Decorated with memories of the rapper's past, we are given a taste of what motivated Hov to dream beyond his Brooklyn borders.

"Dream. On." arrives in anticipation of this coming weekend's performance at Made In America in Philadelphia. J. Cole, Migos, Solange, Pusha T and many more are set to perform.
