O.G. ‘Fresh Prince’ Alums Daphne Maxwell Reid and Vernee Watson-Johnson to Guest on ‘Bel-Air’
Peacock’s new one-hour drama, Bel-Air, has turned heads and become a trending topic after re-imagining the beloved sitcom through a dramatic lens.
With Jabari Banks’ “Will Smith” taking audiences on a complicated journey going from “one little fight” in West Philadelphia to navigating second chances out in Bel-Air, the Will Smith-executive produced series is upping the ante by adding Daphne Maxwell Reid and Vernee Watson-Johnson as guest stars for episode nine.
Reid, who played Aunt Viv, will play “Helen,” while Watson-Johnson, who played Vy, Will’s mother, will play “Janice,” as members of the Art Council Board of Trustees. Morgan Cooper’s viral hit turned television show has blended the old with the new in a way that has audiences claiming Bel-Air as “critically acclaimed.”
The series releases fresh episodes every Thursday, the O.G. Fresh Prince alums’ appearance airs on March 24, with the season one finale streaming on Thursday, Mar. 31.
