It's been an amazing year, and it looks like it's about to get even better for BET! The network is happy to announce the addition of three new original shows to the programming line-up and the return of five already successful programs that fans have grown to love. Let's take a look at what's in store.

The Start Up

From executive producers Mara Brock Akil, Salim Akil (The Game, Being Mary Jane) and Kenya Barris (Soul Food, Girlfriends) comes a scripted comedy upgrade: The Start Up. Hip hop prince Diggy Simmons makes his scripted series debut as Blake Monroe, founder of TheJetsetters.com, an entertainment and lifestyle blog. The Start Up hones in on what it means to be young, gifted and digital, as Blake and his friends strategize for fame and financing while they navigate the freedoms and pressures of adulthood.

Gone Gospel

BET continues to transform unscripted music programming with Gone Gospel. Once popular artists in search of their next chapter and verse share a house, compete in weekly challenges and embark on a holistic journey to rebuild their careers recording inspirational music in an unfamiliar genre with star-making songwriters and producers. There will be egos. There will be tribulations. And there will be a dramatic, victorious conclusion like nothing seen before on BET. Hosted by Kirk Franklin (Sunday Best).

Got Game

When an eligible man or woman has to woo a new prospect without relying on their great looks, killer body or fashion sense, it all comes down to whether they’ve Got Game. BET gives the dating show a cliffhanger with each episode as singles undergo wild transformations, complete with costumes and movie make-up, before their big dates. Will their charm shine through or will it be game over? Hosted by Donnivin Jordan.

Being Mary Jane

From the producers of the award-winning, record-breaking BET comedy The Game and No. 1 box-office romantic comedy Jumping the Broom comes the franchise that is now a phenomenon: Being Mary Jane. Starring the gorgeous and talented Gabrielle Union, who won an NAACP Image Award this year for Outstanding Actress in Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special, social media couldn’t get enough of her honest, relatable portrayal. Real Husbands of Hollywood

The fakest reality show ever is a real-life runaway smash. Taking the No. 1 spot on Entertainment Weekly’s must-see list and garnering acclaim for both the Los Angeles Times and New York Times, Real Husbands of Hollywood is the No. 1 sitcom among all adults 18-49. Led by comic genius Kevin Hart, with A-list cameos and an all-star cast (Boris Kodjoe, Nelly, Nick Cannon, J.B. Smoove, and Duane Martin), season three will provide more appointment television full of new rivalries, special guests and laugh-out-loud cliffhangers.
