Miley Cyrus Denies Beyoncé Diss
A Love magazine cover story in which Miley Cyrus slammed Beyoncé is not true, the 21-year-old star says.
HollywoodLife.com posted an alleged excerpt from the magazine's March 2014 issue where Cyrus is quoted as saying Bey was at "the top of her game," but on her way out. "Beyoncé has been a big inspiration to me, but she's been out for such a long time," Cyrus reportedly said in the article. "She's so talented and I think she's at the top of the game now, but people are always looking for new blood and that's what I bring to the game now, new blood."
Cyrus apparently went on to explain her qualifications. "I got the total package. You know, the curves, the rhythm, and the voice. I'm just the best."
The former Disney star swiftly denied saying such things, laughing off the comments about her figure and talent, tweeting, "That quote people MADE UP about Beyonce just made me lol! Imagine if I said I got 'the looks and the curves I'm just better!' Bahahahhaha" adding, "How are people allowed to make up s--- & then out quotes around it saying I said that s---! WTF!!?!"
If she did say what Love said she said, the Tennessee native would have a right to be confident. Cyrus successfully broke through her squeaky-clean Disney image in 2013, excavated the "twerking" dance craze of yesteryear, and nabbed tons of free publicity in the process. She padded the endless round of shameless promotion with mega-singles "We Can't Stop" and "Wrecking Ball," alongside her gold-selling Bangerz release in October.
On the contrary, Bey's fifth album sold more copies in a week than Cyrus has pushed in three months.
Cyrus plans on taking the magazine to task. "Don't worry," she wrote. "Getting 2 the bottom of this s---. Making the liar retract the statement. U can cause ALOT of drama but NOT between me & B! "
