Angela Simmons Dishes On Relationship with Yo Gotti and New Business Venture
Angela Simmons sat down for a candid interview with Big Tigger on Audacy's V-103's Big Tigger Morning Show, where she talked about her newest entrepreneurial venture, Angela's Cakes, her new line of vegan funnel cake mix.
Simmons said she’s been vegan for nearly 15 years and was inspired to create the sweet treat after a sit down with Slutty Vegan founder Pinky Cole. "There is no vegan funnel cake," she said in the interview. "Where? Tell me where you can get a vegan funnel cake?"
Angela's Cakes will be featured on the menu at several Sugar Factory locations.
"I've had a lot of people who are not vegan try it," she said "It's really good and I'm not just saying it ‘cuz it's mine, I want you to go try it yourself."
The cake mix is also available at eatangelascakes.com.
Simmons, 35, also dished about her relationship with Yo Gotti: “I just feel like he’s one of my biggest inspirations, and we just get each other,” she said. “He’s a hustler. I love watching him. He inspires me to do better, be better. I’m really happy with him. I think he’s a great person. Not think…I know.”
When asked if she hears wedding bells in the future with the CMG mogul, she said, “I’m in a really good moment, and I’m happy. So when it happens, it’ll happen. But right now, it’s cool, I’m in a great space.”
On Friday (August 4), the rapper had a double drop for his latest mixtape, "I Showed U So," which features the track "The One", along with the music video for the song, according to PEOPLE.
The music video opens with a picturesque view of the ocean nestled between a mountainscape. In another frame, Simmons is seen striking a pose in a white one-piece swimsuit as Yo Gotti raps, "She the one."
Yo Gotti famously pursued Simmons with a line on his hit single, "Down in the DMs." The couple went public with their relationship on New Year's Eve 2022.
Simmons also talked to Tigger about raising her son Sutton Joseph Tennyson Jr. in her famous family. The 6-year-old's father, Sutton Sr., was shot and killed in 2018. She jokingly told Big Tigger that her son is "six going on 16," adding, "He has so much to learn, just about even where he comes from.”
“Yeah, he’s got a big life ahead of him. I don’t know how it’s going to go, but I think that it’s awesome that he has this background. This is a really big mantle for him, and he has options of what he wants to do in life and gets to do in life, and what he’s exposed to, so, I think it’s awesome. He has options, he has mentors, he has a lot of people with wisdom around him."
