Not On His Watch! Swizz Beatz Defends Wife Alicia Keys Amid Halftime Show Criticism
You better come correct if you dare throw shade at Alicia Keys because her man has her back.
Usher headlined Sunday (Feb. 11) night's Super Bowl halftime show performance and surprised fans with an appearance by Keys. Still, that history-making moment gave people something to talk about, and her husband Swizz Beatz is over it.
Moments into Usher's set, Keys began singing her 2003 single "If I Ain't Got You" as she played the piano while donning a red embellished Dolce & Gabbana catsuit and matching voluminous cape. Then both artists took fans down memory lane with their hit "My Boo."
Following their performance, critics began a firestorm of chatter scrutinizing Keys' performance.
But her hubby –whom she's been married to since 2010– had something to say to those with the hate.
"Y’all talking about the wrong damn thing !!! y’all don’t see that amazing dress covering the entire stadium," he wrote in the caption of a post on Instagram.
"Tonight’s performance was nothing but amazing with 2 amazing Giants ! Congrats @usher and my love @aliciakeys that song is a classic."
He continued, "We don’t do negative vibes on this side we make history."
We know that's right!
During Keys' performance at Allegiance Stadium in Las Vegas, her doting crew was there in full support, including hubby Beatz and their sons Genesis Ali, 10, and Egypt, 13. Beatz's older son, Kasseem Jr., 16, was also there. Along with Kasseem, Beatz is also dad to Nicole Dean, 15, and Prince Nasir, 22, from a previous relationship.
