‘Emancipation’ Premiere: Will Smith Attends Red Carpet With His Family
Will Smith made his first major red carpet appearance for his Apple Original Films project Emancipation on Wednesday (Nov. 30). The actor was joined by his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, and children Trey, Jaden, and Willow.
Although filmmaker Antoine Fuqua wasn't present on the carpet, Smith was also seen taking photos with the movie's team of collaborators, including Westbrook Studios producer Jon Mone and Escape Artists producer Todd Black (The Pursuit of Happyness and Seven Pounds. Tiffany Haddish, Matt Barnes, Pinkett Smith's mother Adrienne Banfield Norris, and other guests were also in attendance.
The Oscar-winning actor returns to the big screen on Dec. 2, 2022, for his film Emancipation, where he plays an escaped enslaved person named Peter, also known as 'Whipped Peter,' from his whipped back that was one of the many catalysts of the abolition movement.
Emancipation will begin streaming on AppleTV+ on Dec. 9.
