Erykah Badu is full of surprises.

That’s why she stopped by Malcolm X Shabazz High School in Newark, New Jersey recently to visit students. The school is one of the ones she touched through her Future Project initiative.

Badu is seen walking through the cafeteria of the school and it didn’t take long for the students to figure out who she was. She then kicked off a little performance of “On and On” and even a remix of Kanye West’s “Real Friends.” She also gave the kids a little taste of her forthcoming mixtape by playing some unreleased music off of it.
