Jason Momoa Celebrates 44th Birthday in New Zealand
Just days after hosting Discovery Channel’s 35th annual Shark Week, Jason Momoa celebrated his 44th birthday in New Zealand.
The Fast X star was in the country during production for his upcoming Apple TV+ series Chief of War, per PEOPLE.
Momoa, whose birthday is usually at the height of summer, was pleasantly surprised by snowfall in New Zealand, where it is currently winter.
“Happy birthday to me,” he said in an Instagram video, holding a bottle of his Mananalu Water — a company he founded — while admiring the view. He climbed in a hot tub with a view of snow-capped mountains, adding, “What the hell is going on?"
“Look at that, August 1st,” he said, watching the weather. “Never in my life — 44 years — did I ever get in a hot tub and it’s snowing baby.”
The actor screamed excitedly before sipping his drink: "Cheers, everybody, love you."

Momoa recently shared that hosting Shark Week was a dream come true. In addition to playing Aquaman, he has long had a passion for marine biology. In fact, he told PEOPLE that he studied the subject before he discovered acting.
He also shared that he watched the exciting Discovery Channel week since he was a kid and has continued the tradition with his kids, Lola Iolani, 16, and son Nakoa-Wolf, 14, who he shares with his ex-wife Lisa Bonet. "It's a fun thing that I can share and learn with them."
