Report: Donald, Shelly Sterling Finally Divorcing
Everyone had to see this coming.
Shamed former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has filed for divorce from his longtime estranged wife, Shelly Sterling, TMZ Sports is reporting.
According to TMZ, Donald filed documents in the Los Angeles Superior Court nearly two weeks before the couple would have celebrated their 60th anniversary. The feeling is most likely mutual, considering Shelly reportedly prepared and signed off on divorce paperwork last year, only to change her mind at the last minute. But that was amid Donald's notorious scandal, involving alleged mistress V. Stiviano.
In late April, NBA commissioner Adam Silver banned Sterling for life, fined him a max $2.5 million and forced him to sell the Clippers after his racist recording during a conversation with Stiviano hit the Internet.
Ex-Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer struck a winning $2 billion bid to purchase the Clippers the next month.
