Will Smith Working On Comeback Album
Is Will Smith getting back to hip hop?
Hollywood's most bankable star hasn't recorded an album since 2005's Lost and Found, but La Mar “Mars” Edwards, an up-and-coming producer who's had a hand in forthcoming records from Game and T.I., says Smith has been working on some new heat.
“We’re working on Will Smith, bringing him back," Mars said in an interview with XXLMag.com
The producer, who helmed three tracks on The R.E.D. Album and co-produced another, has also been working on material for T.I.'s next effort, which he's saving for the rapper's expected release from jail next month.
“He’ll always be my brother, he’ll always be a friend and production partner. I’ll always be working with Tip. He’s been sitting for a year. So I’ve been thinking about my brother. I have all different types of directions, all types of different stuff,” Mars said.
Before his Hollywood stardom, Will Smith was an Grammy Award-winning rap star as a member the fun-loving tandem DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince.
