Remy Ma on Being the Only Female Rapper Nominated for a 2017 Grammy

Remy Mafia, stand up!

Upon her rap homecoming from a six-year prison bid, Terror Squad femcee Remy Ma is showing us exactly how a real claim back to fame is done.

So after the announcement that the BX Savior was nominated for not one, but two Grammy Awards as the only female rapper candidate in the 59th annual celebration, she’s got every right.

Taking to Instagram to express her profound gratitude for such an honor, Remy gave praise to her Remy Mafia, Grammy-nominated song collaborator and Terror Squad mate Fat Joe, and her No. 1 fan and supporting husband, Papoose.

“I've been through a lot. Nevertheless, I've also been blessed — a lot,” she penned in the post. “I’m the only female rapper nominated this year (was the only one in '05 too; don't worry though I'm reppin’ for all my ladies). I am so humbled and appreciative. I feel like I won something just with the nomination.”

Remy Ma and Fat Joe reinstated a 2016 New York anthem with the highly acclaimed “All the Way Up” single. The smash hit dominated the city’s radio play and received remix respects from other East Coast representatives like Jay Z, Fabolous and Meek Mill all the way to the West Coast with Snoop Dogg, the Game and E-40. Now, the single has stretched all the way up to the Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance nomination categories for the 2017 Grammy Awards.

Congratulations, Remy!
