With the help of the #bringbackMack hashtag, and an online petition, students at Aliso Niguel High School in Aliso Viejo rallied to have the Grammy-winning act back on the school's schedule, the Orange County Register reports.
Principal Deni Christensen announced yesterday that Mack and Lewis are expected to visit the high school Dec. 17. "After careful consideration of varying viewpoints on all sides of the issue surrounding a possible visit by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, it is my hope that we have developed a plan that will meet the needs of our diverse students," said Christensen.
The school has also decided to accept Mack and Lewis’s $10,000 donation to the music department. However, Aliso Niguel students will need a permission slip in order to see the duo.
