Keyshawn Johnson was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery early Monday morning in Calabasas, California, TMZ is reporting. The former NFL star wide receiver already reportedly posted bail, set at $20,000, and is now out.

“When deputies arrived, it was determined that the resident and his ex-girlfriend were involved in a domestic dispute,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement to CBS.

Police told TMZ that the former NFL star wide receiver was involved in an argument with his ex-girlfriend when the situation allegedly escalated into being physical. Sources told TMZ that Johnson smashed the woman’s phone, opening a gash on her hand. Sources also add that the former couple was arguing about marriage. 

Johnson has been an ESPN football analyst since 2007.
