Blame Watermelondrea! Major Upset for Raven-Symoné at 'The View'
One too many controversies?
After months of speculation, it's finally been confirmed that Raven-Symoné is leaving The View. The outspoken talk show host, who has gotten in hot water over a number of statements during her one-year stint at the table, made the announcement on the show Thursday morning, but will stay on until the end of the year.
After her exit, Raven will actually be moving back to Los Angeles and jumping on to a super-exciting new project.
Turns out, Raven will be working on a potential revival of her Disney Channel show, That's So Raven!
Described as a spin-off, the project is still in the development stage — but, according to the Hollywood Reporter, Raven is attached to executive produce and star as a grown-up version of the psychic high schooler she played for five years.
Though it seems like her exit from The View is completely amicable, given the show's history, we wouldn't be surprised if the tea started to spill soon enough. As THR points out, plenty of other hosts, including Candace Cameron-Bure, have juggled hosting duties with cable shows on the side, so her new opportunity is likely not the only reason Raven is leaving.
