Serena Wiliams is a whole MOOD!

She recently sat down with 12-year-old activist Naomi Wadler and Teen Vogue’s new editor-in-chief, Lindsay Peoples Wagner, (the youngest Black EIC at a major publication) at Teen Vogue’s Summit to discuss power, activism and all things #Blackgirlmagic. 

Serena has appeared on plenty of Condé Nast covers throughout the year. However, this marks the first time the 23-time Grand Slam Champion wore cornrows on a magazine cover, ever. 

She donned the cover wearing a coral poncho by Zero Maria + Cornejo ($1,795) with earrings by Khiry, ($495).

The 37-year-old mom and all-star athlete chatted with Naomi and Lindsay about the importance of putting other Black women on and giving them a chance. Serena said, "It's definitely important to have that conversation, and then encourage people to support each other. Especially as women of color. We really have to support each other. I always like to say that women really should support each other, because the success of one woman should be the inspiration to the next. If we look at it that way, there would be so much more that we can accomplish."

For this issue, Serena is styled by Jason Bolden wearing a ruffle, green python print gown from the Off-White SS19 collection ($4,950) with hair styled by Vernon Francois. 

The December issue is Lindsay's first cover as EIC, with the story shot by yet another Black woman, Ronan Mckenzie.
