Leona Lewis Accused Of Stealing Music
When it comes to R&B singers, Twitter seems to be the new place to hash out beef. From Chris Brown/Frank Ocean going at it over a misunderstood compliment to Lloyd/Miguel arguing over hair, it appears to be Leona Lewis’s turn in the ring.
The 26-year-old British beauty has been blasted on Twitter for supposedly stealing a sample from a track called “Penguin” by a DJ in Sweden, according to Access Hollywood. The song in focus is her lastest "Collide." While it's reading as a he-says-she-says issue right now, the website reports Lewis believes she did have permission while her accuser, who goes by the name DJ Avicil, believes otherwise.
The 2006 U.K. “X Factor” winner tweets, “With regards to my song, avicii was aware & agreeing publishing splits for himself and his manager.” The DJ fires back saying, “Since we never met or even spoke, please let me and my manager know who told you that and what confirmation they gave you.” While the 26-year-old singer seems to try to diffuse the DJ’s ire by saying how much she liked the track, he doesn’t seem to be having it.
Hopefully the “Bleeding Love” songbird and three-time Grammy nominee can take this beef offline and shut it down.
