Donald Trump Tweeted That He's 'So Happy' Black Unemployment Is At A Historic Low And Twitter Came For Him Heavy
Donald Trump believes he’s always cared about Black people.
Has he? Nah. But today (January 6), 45 was so happy that African American employment numbers were down during his administration he, of course, took to Twitter to let everyone know.
“The African American unemployment rate fell to 6.8%, the lowest rate in 45 years,” he tweeted. “I am so happy about this News! And, in the Washington Post (of all places), headline states, ‘Trumps first year jobs numbers were very, very good.’”
Last March, the unemployment rate for African-Americans 16 or older was above 8 percent. By September, that number fell to 7 percent and in December, the rate hit 6.8 percent, a new low.
Regardless, Twitter decided to be appropriately petty about it and even brought out receipts explaining that a lot of the heavy lifting came during the end of Barack Obama’s administration.
