NYPD Thinks Chinx and Stack Bundles's Deaths Could Have a Connection
Police have determined that Chinx's murder and Stack Bundles’s murder eight years ago could have a connection, according to New York Daily News.
On Sunday night (May 17), Lionel Pickens was shot multiple times and killed in Queens in a drive-by incident that has left the entire hip hop community mourning his loss. Bundles, whose real name was Rayquan Elliott, was gunned down in his apartment lobby in Far Rockaway on June 11, 2007. The Daily News believes that their murders share “eerie similarities.”
“They were friends, Stack Bundles and Chinx. They were friends, so we're looking at all hip hop angles," NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said.
They draw a conclusion that both rappers were on the rise with music to drop and were tied to bigger rap stars (Stacks with Jim Jones and Chinx with French Montana). They were also killed in the morning hours after performing locally. Although the Kardashian family isn’t tied to Bundles, police think that their connection to Chinx may play a part in the investigation. “We certainly are,” Boyce replied when asked about if police were concerned. “There's always the issue of retaliation in these things."
The NYPD reportedly took two men into custody a day after Chinx’s death to see if they were responsible for the murder. No arrests have been made yet.
Friends, family and musical collaborators have shared their condolences on their fallen friend. Max B, who is serving 75 years for robbery, spoke to Revolt.tv about Chinx and felt that his death was unfair. “I went through this with Stacks. It’s like another sad day. That s**t took us back another 30-40 years. You n***as ain’t learning nothing and we dying for nothing. We killing each other, dog. That s**t gotta stop.”
Chinx’s publicist, Chanel Rae McFadzean, told The Daily News that he was prepping a new single for the summer. He also has an album that’s already recorded and finished.
