Missy Elliott's Halloween Costume Has Tears Of Nostalgia Running Down Our Faces...
The forever-original, timelessly-classic Missy Elliott ditched the tricks and gave us throwback hip-hop and R&B stans a treat for Halloween 2018 on Wednesday (October 31).
While the rest of Hollywood dressed up and bowed down to movie, music and even sports icons, Missy paid homage to a legend as well: herself, from 21 years ago. Missy zipped up a Versace patent coat, threw on her signature slick haircut and popped on a pair of hoop earrings for a 2018 rendition of Supa Dupa Fly’s smash hit, “The Rain.” The Virgina femcee couldn’t find that custom trash-bag blowup suit, but she still nailed the aesthetic overall. The only other pieces missing was Missy’s early industry partner Timbaland and some Hype Williams direction from the 1997 visual.
“Happy Halloween🤣😂😂,” she wrote to fans. “Hey I figured I’d be Missy Elliott in ‘The Rain’ the 2018 version of it!🤣couldn’t find my blow up suit😩 hey grab my Versace jacket had no video effects just my crazy ass!🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️😂🤣🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾.”
Time-machine back two decades with Missy's Halloween costume and the original music video for "The Rain" and see how fans are stanning the '90s hip-hop queen below.
