Regina Hall, Jill Scott and Eve are busy promoting their upcoming Lifetime movie With This Ring and in a recent appearance on the Today show, the three actresses opened up about if and how the movie’s theme related to each of them. The premise of the film revolves around three women who make a vow to get engaged or married within the year, and it turns out that the plot isn’t as crazy to them as you might think.

Scott admitted that she thought it was realistic because that drive to love and be loved is a powerful one. She also said there’s the added pressure from our mothers to get married while Hall included cultural expectations can also drive women to feel pushed towards the altar.

Eve agreed saying, “It’s cultural, but I think we also apply pressure to ourselves, especially women who have a lot going on. Sometimes it takes a little while for us to find the right person because we’ve been working on our careers. And we’re like, ‘Oh, I forgot to do that?! I forgot to get married. I forgot to have kids.’”

While 36-year-old Eve is now enjoying the married life with husband Maximillion Cooper, Hall revealed that she’s made the same kind of vow that the three make in the film.

“I did. I made that vow,” the 44-year-old said. “I was talking to my girlfriend Sandy and I was like by this age, a certain age, we have to get married. We can’t walk around blaming being single on our careers.”

Meanwhile, Scott, 42, has been there and done that. Not only was she married with her longtime boyfriend for six years before calling it quits, but she was later engaged to her drummer, with whom she broke up with shortly after their son’s birth.

“I did put pressure on someone to get married,” she said. “An ultimatum. I did that. It was wack. It was a terrible, terrible decision. I said if it doesn’t happen by New Year’s Eve, it’s over. I was asked on December 30.”
