G.R.L. Singer, Reality Star Simone Battle Dies at 25

Suicide suspected as cause of pop star's death.

Simone Battle, G.R.L. singer and X Factor alum, has died at the age of 25. The singer's manager confirmed the sad news on Saturday.
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the loss of Simone Battle of G.R.L.," Reign Deer Entertainment says in a statement. "Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time."
According to TMZ, law enforcement are ruling the death a suicide. Battle was reportedly found hanging from a rod in the closet of her bedroom in her West Hollywood home on Friday morning.
Battle was best known for appearning on The X Factor in 2011 and was mentored by Simon Cowell. She was eliminated after the first week. After releasing the single "He Likes Boys" that October, she joined G.R.L., a female pop group was created by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin.
Battle's fellow G.R.L. members commented about their loss on the official group Twitter account. "Words cannot express the depth of our loss. Simone's incredible talent was only surpassed by the size of her heart," they wrote. "We will carry her memory with us in everything we do."
Our thoughts are with Battle's family during this difficult time.
