Casting News: New Projects for Mike Epps, Marlon Wayans and Tyson Beckford
Hot off the success of his A Haunted House franchise, Marlon Wayans is teaming up with his buddy Mike Epps for the action comedy Any Means Necessary. The film centers on estranged brothers — one a cop, the other a criminal — who are forced to team up for an undercover operation.
No director has been attached to the film, but the project has snagged an A-list script doctor in Rodney Barnes. The writer's previous credits include rewrites for Think Like a Man and Think Like a Man Too.
Meanwhile, Tyson Beckford and Michael Jai White will bare all for Chocolate City, billed as the "Black Magic Mike." The plot is similar to Steven Soderbergh's hit, and centers on a broke college student who meets the owner of a male strip club and finds himself giving amateur night a whirl.
Jai White will play the owner of the strip club, while Beckford will play the joint's former star attraction. The role of the college student hasn't been cast yet. That ought to get imaginations going...
