See All The Rappers Called Out For Wearing Fake Diamond Jewelry And Watches

They include Plies, Tekashi 6ix9ine, Migos, and more.

You may have heard that snatching a chain from someone’s neck can be associated with snatching a piece of his manhood, but we wonder if accusing him of wearing fake bling is like taking his clout.

From the '80s emcees' love of gaudy gold chains to the '00s rappers' admiration for iced-out bling, an entertainer’s jewelry has always been a symbol of success, riches and even power.

As each layer of chains is placed upon a rapper's neck, more and more they begin to embody their entertainer persona. The question is, if they are called out as fake, does the facade fade?

The inquiry was posed after Gucci Mane proved he had time last Friday. The “Icy” rapper decided to post a throwback clip of the Migos’ 2013 "Holmes" music video, which featured Gucci and Young Scooter — and let’s just say group member Takeoff was not feeling the caption.

To accompany the visual, Gucci shared in his version of the moments leading up to the filming of the video.

“The First day I met the @migos @quavohuncho @yrntakeoff both threw away the fake chains they had on cuz I gave them them both the 2chains off my neck,” Guwop captioned the Instagram post.

Yikes, fake jewels? It hasn't been proven, but surprisingly, Migos aren’t the first rappers blindsided by a fake chain, watch and jewelry accusations — especially thanks to Fake Watch Busta, an Instagram page dedicated to calling out fake celebrity jewels.

When Tekashi 6ix9ine took on the "Diamond Tester Challenge” with fellow rapper Ugly God and the jewelry designer JimmyBoi, the results had many giving the rapper a side-eye.

After the device responded positively to Jimmyboi’s ring and Ugly God’s chain indicating they were real, 6ix9ine's chain failed to react. Well, that's pretty awkward.

  • Big Sean

“I had a super fake, gold herringbone chain," rapper Big Sean shared in an interview with GQ. "Yeah man, it was, like, super fake. I don’t remember if it was my mom’s or how I got it, but ever since then, I’ve loved chains.”

  • Ugly God

Ugly God has been outright honest about wearing fake gold jewelry. The "Water" rapper once toldVlad TV that he just buys "good fake" gold.
