Megan Thee Stallion Responds To Countersuit By 1501 Label
Megan Thee Stallion is blasting the label 1501 Certified Entertainment now that the Carl Crawford ran company is countersuing the Houston rapper. In case you missed it, 1501 is claiming that her 2021 project Something for Thee Hotties wasn’t an album and should not count toward their contractual agreement.
The countersuit was filed on Monday (Mar. 21), a month after Meg hit 1501 with a suit. Crawford’s 1501 says that the project was a compilation of past and present material and not an album, according to TMZ. According to Complex, if a judge finds that Something for Thee Hotties doesn’t count toward her record deal with 1501, the 27-year-old will owe the label two more albums.
“This is yet another absurd attempt by 1501 to disregard Megan’s album and squeeze more money and more free work out of her for as long as possible, said Brad Hancock, Megan’s attorney. “We will ask the court to protect Megan from this type of abuse.”
In the latest lawsuit, 1501 says it discovered the Something project just hours before it release and claims that Meg’s most recent lawsuit is “groundless, because, as she knows, Something for The Hotties does not meet the requirements of an ‘album’ under the three contracts that she has signed with 1501.”
The “Good News” rapper also headed to her Twitter on Mar. 21 to publicly address the drama with her label with several tweets.

The dispute between Meg and 1501 has been going on for a few years, you might remember when she asked a judge to throw out her contract and claimed back in 2020 that 1501 was preventing her from releasing new music.
