Oh, Boy: Michelle Williams’ White Fiancé Is Getting Dragged To Hell On Twitter For This Comment About Their Racial Differences

Red flag!

The internet resoundingly cheered for Michelle Williams when it was revealed that the singer had found swirly love in her new white then-boyfriend, pastor Chad Johnson.

After he popped the question, the online love for the seemingly perfect couple only intensified. However, the pair's new reality series has shown that there's a major problem in their dynamic and it has everything to do with how the pastor handles their racial differences.

In a recently posted clip from their OWN reality series, Chad Loves Michelle, the Destiny's Child alumna, while sitting beside her fiancé, shared with their therapist that Johnson grew visibly bothered when she pointed out the differences in their racial backgrounds.

"I said something to him on the lines of, 'Well, Chad, because you are not Black, you would not understand why I communicate the way I do," she said. "Maybe because you didn't grow up around a lot of Black people.' So, that was very, very offensive to Chad."

While his "offense" may already prematurely serve as a red flag to many, that notion was only cemented when she pointed out that, in response to her valid statement, he asked her if she had "taken her meds."

For those who may be unaware, Williams has had an open and lengthy battle with depression for some time now, making Johnson's comment a definite low-blow.

In an attempt to justify why he was angered by the "Say Yes" singer's initial statement, Johnson provided the cliché rainbow-themed race analogy all while trying to prove that she should have understood his frustration.

"To me, it doesn't matter if you're Black, white, green, yellow. It doesn't matter," he said. "If you know the other person was like, 'I didn't like the way you said that,' then seek to find some understanding as to why that person didn't like what you said."

Take a look at the exchange, below:

  • Needless to say, Twitter has seemingly fully canceled Johnson, with many urging Williams to get out of the relationship before it's too late. See how they reacted, below:
