Jacksonville Jaguars May Sign Colin Kaepernick After Nick Foles Injury
Colin Kaepernick could make his return to the NFL sooner than later.
Rumors speculate that the former San Francisco quarterback may replace Jacksonville Jaguars’ Nick Foles after he broke his left clavicle during the team’s first match of the season against the Kansas City Chiefs.
While throwing a 35-yard touchdown to wide receiver DJ Chark, the veteran quarterback was pummeled by Chief’s Chris Jones. Foles immediately exited the game and was ruled out indefinitely, according to ESPN. Foles’ Jacksonville debut lasted less than a quarter.
Although the Texas native will undergo surgery on Monday, it’s unclear when he will return.
During his absence, speculation of Colin Kaepernick signing with the Jaguar’s has Twitter ablaze, especially since he has not played a professional football game since he began taking a knee.
Twitter users began to advocate for Kaepernick, who’s still a free agent after opting out of his contract with San Francisco, encouraging the Jaguars to give him a much deserved chance to return to the field.

Kaepernick played his final season with the 49ers in 2016, when he passed for over 2,000 yards, 16 touchdowns and only four interceptions.
Back in 2017, Jaguars owner Shad Khan reportedly was open to signing Kaepernick. According to The Bleacher Report, when Khan was asked if Kaepernick was a viable option, he replied, “absolutely.”
For now, rookie quarterback Gardner Mineshew filled in for Foles after his injury.
The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Jaguars, 40-26.
