Rakim Mayers (better known as A$AP Rocky) was detained at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Wednesday (April 20). The rapper posted bail the same day.

According to NBC News, the rapper was booked into the L.A. County jail and was released less than three hours later after posting his bond amount of $550,000, states the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department booking report.

Rocky, 33, was traveling back on a private plane from Barbados to L.A., with pregnant girlfriend, Rihanna. When arrived at LAX, he was detained at the airport.

According to LAPD, his arrest stems from a November 2021 shooting that took place near Vista Del Mar and Selma Avenue in L.A.

The alleged victim claims that Rocky shot at him three to four times and police reports state that bullets grazed his left hand.

Rocky’s court date is set for August 17.

He has yet to post any content to his social media platforms.
