DMX and George Zimmerman Fight Canceled
The proposed boxing match between George Zimmerman and DMX is over before it began. "The George Zimmerman fight is canceled I'm sorry for anyone I hurt with this but this was a very big opportunity thank you," tweeted Damon Feldman, owner of Celebrity Boxing. Based on his social media messages, it appears Feldman canceled the fight due to public pressure.
Feldman went on to explain that there is "more to life than money" and that "people's feelings meant more to me."
DMX spokesman Domenick Nati told E! News in a statement: "Damon Feldman has announced that the George Zimmerman fight is canceled via his Twitter. As previously stated, DMX never agreed to the fight and we thank you for all of the support from DMX's fans."
The idea of squaring off in the ring with a celebrity was actually Zimmerman's idea, RadarOnline.com previously reported. According to Feldman, a number of stars came forward wanting to fight the notorious Zimmerman, who was acquitted last year of second-degree murder charges for shooting Trayvon Martin.
Game told fans he was ready to step into the ring with Zimmerman. When a fan asked the celeb on Twitter today whether he was picked to fight, Game tweeted back, "nah he scared !!! Said DMX more his size lol." The rapper also denies looking for a payday to fight Zimmerman.
