‘Superfly’ Actor Kaalan Walker Ordered To Register As A Sex Offender, Sentenced To 50 Years To Life In Prison For Sexual Assaults
Kaalan Walker has been sentenced to 50 years to life in state prison for sex-related charges involving three teenagers and four women for attacks that date back to 2013.
According to NBC Los Angeles, the 27-year-old was sentenced Monday (Oct. 17) and ordered to register as a sex offender, Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Wallace shared also mentioning that she believes that the Superfly actor is “truly a predator.”
Walker, who is a rapper, was convicted on April 18 of three counts of forcible rape, two counts each of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and rape of an intoxicated victim and one count of assault with intent to commit oral copulation by a Van Nuys jury.
The crimes which occurred between 2013 and 2018, took place when Walker lured his victims using social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter and told them that he had a network of people that could help them in their modeling careers, Rolling Stone reports.
Jurors acquitted him of two counts of forcible rape and one count of forcible digital penetration involving three other alleged victims.
Walker, who also appeared in the 2017 film Kings, was arrested in September 2018.
He was released on bond, but he was taken into custody again after the jury's verdict was read.
