It’s been a rough week for Bobby Brown — and it’s only Wednesday. Two days after he was arrested in Los Angeles for driving under the influence, the R&B singer has officially been charged with DUI and for driving with a suspended license.

According to TMZ, law enforcement has issued formal charges against the troubled music star for operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level of .12 — the legal limit is .08. Brown was also behind the wheel with an invalid license, which was suspended back in 2010 after a speeding infraction.

Both misdemeanor offenses come with a maximum penalty of six months in jail. If convicted, Brown would also have to pay a $1000 fine per charge.

Earlier today, the singer’s lawyer issued a statement urging the public to let the incident play out in court.

“Everyone is innocent until proven guilty and Mr. Brown was not driving erratically. He was speaking on his cell phone. Mr. Brown has not been convicted of anything associated with this incident," said Brown’s lawyer Tiffany Feder. "Mr. Brown is taking this matter seriously and an investigation is underway. The legal process shall run its course."

The “Don’t Be Cruel” crooner was convicted of DUI once before in 1996.
